How to share your laptop presentation on a Cisco video conference unit

Using a laptop to share information during a video conference is known as Presentation mode. Any image on your laptop, such as a PowerPoint presentation, Word document or Excel spreadsheet, can be shown via video conference.

Using presentation mode

  1. Connect the VGA or HDMI cable attached to the video conference unit to the VGA or HDMI output on your laptop.
Mac users may need to supply their own Mac Display Output to VGA converter.

  2. Most laptops will auto-detect the output and display automatically - if you have a Lenovo laptop, press the Function + F7 buttons on your laptop to send the image from the laptop to the Cisco video conference unit.
If you see a VGA resolution not supported message on the video conference unit, you will need to adjust your laptop's display resolution to 1920 x 1080 pixels.
To do this, please see the following instructions: The function key to change display output differs between different manufacturers. Acer laptops use F5 and Lenovo laptops use F7. For different brands, look for the Function key. The Function key has a picture of a screen, and/or two screens, or the key might say LCD or CRT.
  3. On the Cisco Touch Panel select Share.
