An approved discontinuation will end your course enrolment with Deakin and withdraw you from any enrolled units.
Before discontinuing your course, you should:
- contact Student Central or complete the enquiry form below if you have questions or wish to discuss your options
- consider if intermitting your study (taking a break) or transferring to another course might suit your circumstances
- see what counselling and financial assistance services are available that might help you continue studying
- keep track of the dates you can discontinue by and the impact on your academic record and fees on the Important dates and census page
- check the implications for your visa on the International discontinuation webpage, if you are an international student.
If you decide that you definitely wish to discontinue, you can apply to do so through StudentConnect. You cannot discontinue verbally or over the phone.
To discontinue your course:
- read the instructions carefully on the Intermit or discontinue webpage
- go to StudentConnect and submit your request to discontinue.
