DeakinTALENT offers many resources to help you learn about internships. See what is available below.
University Handbook or Student Adviser
It’s important to know whether your internship is towards credit in your degree or to gain experience outside of your studies. If you are unsure, you should check the page for your course in the University Handbook or contact a Student Adviser through Student Central.
Jobs and Internships Board
We have internship positions advertised via our Jobs and Internships Board. You can find them on the Jobs and Internships Board.
We have the FreelancingHUB program, which places students within a team to complete a project for a non-for-profit organisation. You can find more information on the FreelancingHUB webpage.
If you're seeking to gain internship experience outside of your course (not for credit), and you can't find a relevant position listing on our Jobs and Internships Board, consider booking an appointment with a Career Coach to create a plan and refine your search process. Appointments are one-on-one over the phone, or via Zoom. Bookings are made via UniHub - you can find more information on the Career Coaching webpage.
Regarding opening dates for specific internship applications: If the position isn't listed on our Jobs and Internships board, we're unable to advise as to when it opens or not - we encourage you to speak to a Career Coach, as we can't give that kind of specific advice over this chat-box. These appointments are one-on-one and can be over the phone or via Skype. Bookings are made via UniHub. You can find more information here on the DeakinTALENT Career Coaching webpage.
