33897 views

The Academic Support Worker (ASW) provides note taking for the student in lectures and seminars. Their role is to provide clear, legible and comprehensive notes, taking into account the particular needs of the student. Deakin University employs ASW's through the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) and they are subject to availability.

The ASW does not explain the content of academic work, provide a verbatim transcript of the classes, clarify information from academic staff, obtain additional information from academic staff, return books to the library, request extensions, provide attendant care support, or assistance with transport.
