Student: Can my Access Plan from my previous university be implemented without new documentation?

If your disability is permanent, and the adjustments indicated on the plan can be easily adapted to meet course requirements at Deakin University, new documentation may not be required. An initial discussion with your Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) will confirm if new documentation is needed. Attach a copy when requesting support or bring a copy of your previous Access Plan to your meeting with the DLO, as we'd love to talk to you about your experiences at your old university.

Your DLO will want to know which of the previous adjustments worked well for you, and why, and which didn't work well for you and why. Are you studying the same course? Are the course requirements different? Has your condition changed? Have your personal circumstances changed? These questions and discussions will ensure that your Access Plan is as relevant as possible.
